Apart from the bedroom facilities, St. Joseph's Nursing Home also provides many supplementaries. Committed teams provide a friendly and caring environment and can always be approached, no matter how trivial the matter. Two large courtyards provide central focal points, with mature shrubs displaying year round colour.

Recreation rooms include two tv rooms, a smoking room and a delightful dining room. Catering is of the highest quality, with two caterers working in the purpose built kitchen in order to prepare a wide choice of menus using fresh local produce. Special dietary requirements are provided, as are mid-morning and afternoon snacks. Meals may be served in the patient's bedroom if required and nitecaps are offered before retiring each evening.

A modern on-site laundry operates a same day wash and iron service for all patients. Specialised "care" rooms include a treatment room and a bath room. GP cover is provided on a 24 hour basis by a panel of doctors, but the patient can include their own GP if they prefer. People of all religious denomonations are welcome in St. Joseph's Nursing Home and mass is celebrated every week in the home's private chapel.

As a treat to the residents of St. Joseph's Nursing Home, trips are offered to the more able patients on a biannual basis. These include trips to Mucross House and Gardens, to music festivals and to Gaelic matches.
