St Josephs Nursing Home is located on the outskirts of the scenic heritage town of Kenmare (http://www.kenmare.ie/). It is near all local amenities such as Restaurants, Golf courses, GAA grounds and Library. The Carnegie Hall Arts Centre located in the town also hosts plays and concerts on a regular basis.

Kenmare is a seaside town, with beautiful scenic walks, such as Reen Na Gros. Kenmare is steeped in history with stone circles, fairy forts, St Clare’s Convent where the Nun of Kenmare wrote her books. We have a wonderful tourist office in Kenmare which provides an excellent history on Kenmare.

We at St Joseph's encourage all residents (where physically possible) to take advantage of all that Kenmare has to offer.  We also encourage families to take residents out when possible. There are tours organised, with lunch and drinks for residents.  Residents are taken out as often as possible with the consent of both the individual and their next of kin.
